EXXY

Dance (Pitch)

ABOUT THE SHOW

EXXY is a major new performance by Dan Daw Creative Projects; designed for mid/large scale space.

At the heart of EXXY is the push-pull between Dan’s ambition to take up space and create the disabled-led work that is currently missing from large stages, and the self-doubt that starts to rise inside of him, as a working-class, queer Crip artist, at the audacity that he would be the one to try to fill that gap. A question he keeps coming back to is: “How can I navigate the precariousness of maintaining a sense of self-worth whilst living within a World that places little value on Crip and Queer bodies?”

EXXY has a confirmed UK tour in place and international premiere in Germany in Autumn 2025.

EXXY is co-produced with Battersea Arts Centre and co-commissioned by Attenborough Centre for the Creative Arts, Battersea Arts Centre, Transform, Take Me Somewhere, and Tramway for the New Dimensions commission, Edinburgh International Festival, FABRIC, Kampnagel, Sadlers Wells, SICK! Festival and Les Halles. The R&D was supported by an Unlimited Strategic Award 2023.
