You Heard Me

Show Description

'You Heard Me' is for anyone who has been told to shut up.

'You Heard Me' takes up space and refuses to be silenced.

The story of one woman's power to re-make, re- mould and disrupt. This is for anyone who has been underestimated.

Integrating a blend of visceral movement, enveloping sound and lights, Luca and her collaborators involve and immerse us in the messiness and effort of connecting to your own power. This show exists because without using her voice, Luca wouldn't. This is a loud show about quiet power.

Content Advice:  contains distressing or potentially triggering themes including sexual violence. Also contains haze, black outs, loud sound, flashing lights. For full information see the Guidance.

Company Information

Luca is a Newcastle based artist, making new work that sparks conversations inside and outside of theatre spaces. They are an associate artist of ARC Stockton, Cambridge Junction and a movement practitioner with Frantic Assembly.  Luca writes, performs, dramaturgs and collaborates on work that asks big questions with playfulness.

Their artistic vision is to create work that is softly fierce and fiercely soft. In process and final design, their practice revolves around the creation of community, holding space for conversation, humour and play. Luca makes work that is accessibly experimental in form; and in content explores, plays with, and questions the messy, confusing bits of being alive. Their work is rooted in intersectional feminism. It is for the adventurous, and also the shy. It is for those who are curious, believe in exploration,  and anyone looking for a safe space to explore big, confusing and sometimes difficult topics.
